Released in 1978 as a descendant of Northern Brewer, Perle is a well-rounded German variety with dual-purpose utility, delivering moderate alpha (5-9%) paired with a pleasant blend of herbs, spice and green fruit. These characteristics make it a popular choice for dry hopping in Kölsch, pilsners and ales. Perle has a similar oil profile to Hallertau Mittelfrüh with especially high humulene (35-55% of total oils). Balanced flavor, excellent storage stability, and reliable agronomics — hallmarks of a German classic.
